"Cage
Dies Bird Flies- Phase III" All of the texts Ben Miller gave me for phase 3 of Cage Dies referred to landscapes. So I thought I would take the phrases and a long horizontal sketchbook into the streets of New York and create wordscapes for this phase of our project. Because the figure has been the main subject of my artistic endeavors for many years I gave myself one firm rule when making these drawings: no figures (although fragments and ghosts of figures do occasionally appear). Nor did I want to show the actual landscape, but in many cases some feature of the place I stood before enters into my drawing. Scroll down to view images. |
